The next morning, the protagonist wakes up to find himself in the middle of a conversation with a homeless man. The homeless man tells the protagonist that he has a rare disorder that makes him fall asleep on the street. The protagonist realizes that he is above the homeless man and that he and the other students are above the "humans." The protagonist is grateful for the man's help in making him feel better.
