About This Chapter
In this chapter, James confronts his grandmother, who has been confined to her room on the second floor of the apartment building. She tells him that she is not mentally ill, and that her memories are not good because of her old age. James tells her that he is a lawyer and that he will sue her. He says that his only friend, Paul, helped him escape from the hospital and that they will kill all of the brothers and take their revenge. They took all of their money, their authority, and their reputation. In just two years, everyone in the family and the people who were involved in the murder were brought "to ruin." James asks his grandmother if she ever thinks that Paul lost his balance in his bank account because of him. She says that she does not think about that. She also says that her mother died when she fell from the second-floor window. James asks her if she still wants to be his family.
