The chapter opens with Hiroyuki and Hirose having a little chat. Hiroyuki tells Hirose that his parents are dead, and that he and his sister are having some fun together. Hirose is sorry, and Hiroyuki says that he has to take good care of himself. He also tells her that his brother, Taisuke, is a bell pepper-head, but that he is not a bell-pepper-head because he is dumb. He says that they are still young and that their parents probably wish to have left them behind. Yko says that her brother is always fighting, even when he is such a bad fighter, because he thinks he is an airhead. She says that she is jealous of her sister, who is always smiling at him. She also says that it is hard to see a suicide committed in front of her. She tells her sister that the actor who committed the suicide, Tomokubota, was in town for a funeral, and he died. She asks him if he knew about the suicide and he replies that he did, and she thanks him for his kind words. She then tells him that she loves him and that she made it a point to study his life. He asks her if it is true that her parents have died, to which she replies that only a "fine line separates life from death" .
