About This Chapter
It's the day of the school festival, which means that Hiroshi and Tomohiro are going to show their latest movie. Hiroshi says that he's going to meet everyone at the festival gate at 10 a.m., and he'll tell them how he feels. He's even practiced his smile, which is a good thing because he doesn't know how to respond to other people's comments. He wants to hear everyone's voices, so he can say "good morning" to them and freeze them in their faces. He also wants to listen to their voices so that he can see how they're feeling. He thinks that it's better to look down than to look up, but he can't figure out how to do this at school because people don't seem to be able to do that. He wonders if he'd be a fool if he looked down at the people in the movie. He says that the movie is like an old silent movie, and that he wishes he could go back in time and be with the guy who ruined his life when he was a kid. He asks if that means that they went back and talked, and Hiroshi replies that they didn't go back to talk, but went to shoot there. That's weird, he says, because he feels empty now. He wishes that he could make his face around, so that no one would make fun of him anymore.
