About This Chapter
It's been a while since we've seen Nemo, and now he's back in Chapter 7. He's still moping about how he gave up on his goal of becoming a professional wrestler, but now he has a new goal: he wants to be a good friend to his mother, who lives with her. He asks his son-in-law if she's had any bread duty today, and the boy says that she has, and they're going to have to feed the carp to make sure they don't get sick. Nemo's not having it, though, and he starts to get a little worried about his mother's health. He tells his son that he used to hate being counted on, and that now he can't even stand to look at his face when he feeds the carp, because it's full of blood. He wants to leave, but his mother won't let him go, so they have to wait for someone to come pick them up and take them to the bridge, where they'll be able to see their mother again. The boy's worried about what his mother will think of his new goal, but the girl smiles and says that if she had died, she'd never have seen him.
