About This Chapter
It's been twenty years since the accident at the Aiba plant, and we're still talking about the future. We're back at the plant, where we meet Hiroshi, who's worried about what's going to happen to the plant. He's also worried about the safety of the workers, because the plant is so big. He also worries about the economy, since the country has lost all of its manufacturing. Hiroshi is worried that the country's economy is going to go down the drain, and he's not the only one worried about it. Everyone is worried about how the country will be able to compete with China and India, which are both growing faster than the country itself. The only thing that's keeping the country from going down is the fact that the government doesn't have enough money to keep up with the rising cost of living. The government needs to figure out a way to pay for all of this new spending, Hiroshi says. He wants to make sure the country can compete with the rest of the world, not just China. He tells Hiroshi to get up and leave.
