The narrator and his companions take the subway to the shinto bank, where they plan to meet up with the remaining survivors. As they wait for the underground promenade to open, the narrator tries to convince the others that they are the only ones who have survived the attack on the bank. He tells them that he is the godmother of the shelter where they live, and that they have tried to talk to the survivors over the radio, but they have not responded. The narrator asks the other survivors if they think something has happened in the bank, and they respond that they do not feel that something is there. He then asks them if they have seen something in the dark, and when they do, they exclaim that it is "blon city" . He asks if they were the ones to run away from the bank without them, and the narrator tells him that he was the one who ran away without them. He also tells the narrator that the ceiling has caved in, and he thanks him for his help. As the narrator leaves, he notices that the vault is covered in blood. He wonders if someone is still alive in the vault.
