Everyone is hanging out together, waiting for the answer to their questions about the girl they've been hanging out with. When they finally get to the point, they realize that they didn't say they'd wait for an answer, but rather that they wanted to know how long it took them to get to know each other. They decide that they're going to have to pick someone to pick up the girl, and then they'll have to make their own decision. They're not going to just pick one girl because she's prettier than the other, though. They have to decide whether or not they want to be in love with each other, and they can't do that if they don't have a good enough reason to do so. They can just draw an Amidakuji, or play a game of rock paper scissors, or whatever they choose to do. They all have the same reason for wanting to be together, and that's because they all belong to the same class, so they all have a right to make up their minds. The only problem, he says, is that he doesn't know how to make his decision, and he can only make his choice by guessing. He's not sure how he's going to do it, but he'll do it anyway.
