In this chapter, we learn that Hiroshi and Yuka are in the middle of another round of card-playing, and that Yuka's opponent, Haruo, has just won another round. As the game continues, Hiroshi notices that Haruo's hand seems to be getting closer to his, and he realizes that this is because he's trying to get Yuka to match his hand. He also notices that the other players seem to be moving their bodies in a similar fashion, which he thinks is a sign that they're trying to win.
