This chapter opens with a conversation between the patriarch of the Blackstone sect and the leader of the Guixian sect . The two men discuss the situation of the sect. The patriarch explains that the disciples of his sect have come out of seclusion in order to protect their sect from the attack of the qigong. He explains that they were trained secretly by his sect and that the rest of his disciples have been killed by the enemy. The men then discuss the fact that the blackstone sect has been trying to destroy their sect since the beginning, but they have been unable to do so because of the weakness of their own sect. They are confident that their sect will be able to resist the attack.
