About This Chapter
The next morning, Hiroshi and his friends go for a walk. Hiroshi tells his friend that he's supposed to meet with his idols, Juri and Shimada, and Hiroshi asks if they've gotten used to their new home yet. He's not sure, but he does know that it's going to be three months before they're able to settle in. He asks if Hiroshi's uniform is missing, and then he asks if he can wear his track suit to school. He also asks if there's anyone he'd like to try judo with, since Shimada is a member of the track team. He says he'll introduce him to everyone, but first he wants to know if the town is getting any home-weirder. He thinks he hears something about a thief stealing his uniform, but then he realizes that he doesn't know who the thief is. He goes on to say that the thief was at a meeting the night before, and that Hiroshi was with him all the time. He then asks if the thief could have gotten away with stealing his own uniform, and the thief says no, but that he didn't want to reveal the thief's identity to anyone. The two men go on to talk about the town's "strong sense of community" and how everyone is willing to work together.
