In this chapter, the demon explains that the town responds to the "demonic energy" of the people. He explains that he is the new mayor of the town and that he will be able to remove the demon's influence from the people of the city. He tells the crowd that he wants to erase the image of him as a demon from the public's mind, so that he can "see things from both humans and demons' points of view. He also tells them that he has been asked to find the dog that ran away.
