About This Chapter
Back in high school, we find our protagonist, a girl named Yasuke Arahabaki. He's been hanging out with his childhood friend, Akari, who's also a friend of Yasuke's older sister, Lahiri. Lahiri has invited Yasuke to stay with her for the night, but Yasuke isn't home. Yasuke asks Akari to come over for dinner, but Akari refuses, saying that he'll have to go to another friend's house for the meal. Akari asks if he has any money, and Akari says that he does, but that Lahiri doesn't have any money either. He also asks if Akari has any food, and she says that she does, and that she'd like to have dinner with him. He asks if she's got any money. She says no, and then he asks how he's going to confess to her. She tells him that he can breathe a girl's breath, and he says that's fine, but he'd rather have a wife who would do it for him than a sister who wouldn't let him do it. He says that if Lahiri pulls away from him, his "divine mirror" will have to curse her, and if she pulls away, his life will be on the line. He tells her that he brought a girl over to Lahiri while Lahiri was away, and Lahiri is the one who brought the girl in, not the other way around. He swears that if he had never crackled his fault, he would never have been able to bring a girl in while his sister was away. He promises that he won't cry, and promises that she will accept him.
