About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's been waiting for his brother's return. He's happy to see everyone back at the inn, and he thanks everyone for their patronage of the food cart. He tells the narrator to leave everything to him. The narrator says that he and his brother aren't really related, but he doesn't know how to deal with it. He says that the Hirota family owns a sweets shop that's famous among the people in the area. The Hirota's family is very fond of the sweets, and they're sure everyone will forgive everything if they find out that the narrator is a nice girl. He goes on to say that he wants to talk to everyone about what's going on, but that he can't because he'd rather fight with everyone than talk to the people who don't want him to fight with them. So he goes off to find out what the commotion is all about. When he finds out, he says that it's because of the promise girl that he was forced to leave Hirota for three years. He vows to find her and kill her.
