In this chapter, we learn that the guild has been taken prisoner by the army, and that the purge is four hours away. Everyone is relieved to hear that they haven't been taken away, but they're still worried about the guy who invented the clock. He's a high school kid, and he's got a secret weapon: he can fix the core of the tower. The guys are all like, "Who designed this lovely, fascinating, exciting, and wonderful, movement?" . The guy is cool, but he doesn't want to be jealous of the other guys. He just wants some time to figure out how to fix the problem. He wants to be able to crawl into the tower and fix it. The other guys are like, dude, you're a tool. You're in the middle of the job, and the guys are scrawny. They're not sure what to do with him. He says he just loves machines and has good ears. He can hear everything, even when it's thousands of miles away. He thanks the guys for fixing the core, and says he hopes he can help them in the future.
