About This Chapter
Milady asks if she can eat the little piece of bread that the others have given her. She says she's not hungry, so she'll give it to the others. Milady wants to know what happened in the cave, but Milady is too tired to tell her what happened. She asks if Milady fell asleep, and Milady says she didn't, so Milady doesn't know what to say. She tells Milady that she heard what happened, and that Milady met someone like her in that cave. She wants Milady to tell Milady what happened , but she can't because Milady's eyes were just like hers, and she couldn't do anything to save Milady. She blames herself for not being more careful with Milady, and says she knows that she did her best, but that she shouldn't blame herself for what happened to her. When Milady falls asleep, she hears the voice of the child of star guiding her through the darkness. She's afraid, she says, because she can hear only the last words of the girl she met, and the only thing she could do was to try to save her. The warmth of the light will envelop her, and when Milady takes her hand, she will return to the cave. Mi
