The girls are dancing at a ball, and one of them asks why they're dancing with a guy who's "not human" . The girl replies that the guy is a "monster" , and that he crawled his way from being a slave to being a war hero. The girls agree that he's too strong for them, but they still don't understand why the guy would want them to help him. One of the girls says that she'd like to see the martial artists at the ball, but she can't because she's not allowed to go see the governor general or the "imperial princess of twilight" yet. The other girl, Asuna, is dancing with the prince, and the girl says she wishes she could dance with him instead, because she thinks they'll rope her into being a ball staff if she doesn't ask him to dance with her.
