About This Chapter
In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of characters, including makigai, the boss of the school, and his son . . The first person we meet in this chapter is the boss, who tells us that the school is in the process of closing down and that he has no plans to stop it. He tells his son that he is going to support the next person who needs help. He says that the people who are going to the school are "living corpses" and that they have "a fire in their eyes" because they have been taught the wrong message. The boss says that this is not the message he taught them in the cold days, when he and Olborudo used to go to other families and settle scores with them. But now, he says, they have forgotten the message and have gone to the "seminars" instead. The school is being sold, and the boss is thankful for the job he has done. He thanks his son for being so kind to him, and says that he would have been a dead man if he had not done what he did. The son thanks his father for being kind, and he says that it is good to hear that not all of the kids are as bad as they used to be. He also thanks the boss for selling the school so quickly, and for making up for all of this. He praises his son's generosity, saying that he could have been dead if he did not do what he had to do. He adds that he wishes he had been nicer to his son. He wishes that he had said something to him that would have made him feel better. Instead, he said something that made him cry, and so the tears flowed. The bells of the bells ring out in the distance, signaling the coming battle and the future of the world. It seems to represent the "coming battle"
