The narrator tells us that Caius has been following him around like a puppy. He tells Caius not to worry, because he's a trainee at the company and he doesn't want Caius to slack off at work. Caius says he'll tell Caius about how he used to spend his time at the bar, but he'd rather keep his mouth shut. He says he has a million ways of taking care of Caius, but Caius isn't a part of the company, so he can't tell anyone about it. He's going to the hospital, he says, and Caius needs to get there before it's too late. He promises not to say a word, but then he promises to be quiet. He asks Caius if he can meet him at the hospital. He invites him to come to his house every night.
