In this chapter, we learn that the black hole is full of casualties, and that the monster's roar can be heard over the place. The monster tells the lieutenant that he has figured out that the military will not be able to find any of the people who have gone in, even if the number of people in the hole is very large. The lieutenant tells the monster that he looks down on people, and the monster tells him that his skill as a mercenary has declined. He tells the captain that he is drenched in blood and that his friend's abilities are cool. He says that since he is a creature born for battle, he has no interest in other people. He has fantasies of how he can kill the captain when he meets him again. The captain says that he does not want to know what is going on with the captain, but he does want to kill him.
