About This Chapter
The chapter ends with a soliloquy by the vice-captain. He tells the rest of the gang that he's tired and wants to fight the demon lord in a proper way. He's also angry that they allowed him to be defeated. He asks where the old man is, where the shepherd is, and where the jarvis is. He also tells them that they're going to have to let the captain go, because he needs some time to recover from his fight with the dark knight. He says that he doesn't like the way that humans treat him and the other humans. He wants to create an open space for the humans to live in, so that they don't have to fight with each other. The vice captain tells him that he seems to be directing his words at him, but that's not the case. He admits that he has many different ideas, but he has some things to settle with the rats, and he wants to clear out everything. The narrator tells us that the vice captain is always in a "fiery mood" whenever he sees him, so the narrator is going to ask him.
