In this chapter, we find out that Silver Fox is the one who first reported the strange events at the church. Silver Fox tells us that he's not sure if he heard any weird noises the night before, but he does know that he heard a strange sound at the front door of the building. He also says that it's a coincidence that the building is on the opposite side of the street from the pavilion, which is supposed to be a sign of the white cloud. He asks Silver Fox if he has a cigarette, and Silver Fox says he does, but Silver Fox doesn't want to smoke. He says he'd rather just grovel under the creatures than fight them. Silver fox says that he believes in evolution, and that those with superior genes are the ones who are victorious. He tells Silver Fox that he has some urgent business to deal with, and they'll talk more about it later.
