About This Chapter
Now that he's back on the battlefield, Bryce is all, "Dude, I can't believe that I'm not going to beat you." He wants to know what's going on, but Bryce doesn't seem to want to tell him. Instead, Bryce tells his brother, neville, to "tell you a story" . He's got a story to tell, and he wants to tell it in a way that's easy for his brother to understand. Bryce says that he was attacked by some gang members, probably from Bryce's side, and that he thinks they're probably looking for him. Bryce reminds his brother that human beings should be called "neo-humans" instead of "monsters." He says that Bryce is the only one they've been looking for. Bryce then explains that soul elements are the "elements" that make up a person's soul. They're the same elements that people breathe in their lungs, like the elements that breathe out of their stomachs. Bryce also explains that Bryce has been mixing soul elements into his soul all his life, which makes him a little more like a god than a human being. He also knows that the sea is the same name that Bryce gave it to the gang at the end of the previous chapter.
