In this short scene, the Governess tells the young man that he is welcome to see his bag. She tells him that she has been teaching for 20 years and that she knows his face. He tells her that he has heard that the Dean of the school has caught him again. The Governess asks him where the ticket office is, and he says that he does not know. She asks him if he needs any help, and when he says yes, she asks him what he thinks he is doing. She says that she would have been in trouble without him, but that he seems nicer to her than she thought. He says that even though he is blunt, he is nicer than she had thought. When she asks if he is okay, he replies that he was okay, and that he did not need to help his mother. He asks her if she is awake, and she replies that she was not. She then tells him to watch out, as the house is in the wrong direction
