About This Chapter
The narrator and his crew are on their way to the train station to pick up Emma and Nathan. They're 15 minutes away, but they're still waiting for the train to arrive, so they decide to go anyway. The narrator is bummed that he can't go to the station because he's on a diet, but the crew assures him that they'll be back in no time. The crew is also bummed that they haven't gotten tickets to a fancy show that's opening on Emma's birthday, which makes the narrator wonder if garrett is still hanging out with his girlfriend. He's guessing that garrett has been hanging out more lately because he keeps taking her out, like he should. Emma is bummed because she'd rather hang out with her best friend instead of spending time with the guy she's hanging with. She's six years old, and doesn't like to listen to reason, so she pouts when she disagrees with her dad.
