About This Chapter
In this chapter, the gang leader of the 12 lanes is introduced. The gang leader explains that the imperial court knows about the whereabouts of the supporters of the late du yuansheng and the identity of the man who is known as gong ingfeng. The imperial court has been trying to find out the identities of the remaining supporters, but they have not been able to find them. The chief constable explains that he and several other gangs and societies have been implicated in the capture of the surviving supporters. He explains that after the battle, he has become homeless and has been forced to roam around aimlessly. He asks daoyuan why he should not join the six doors of the wushu, the elite group of martial law officials. Daoyuan tells him that he is afraid that he has been planning the whole thing for a long time. He tells the chief constable that his family ranks first among the martial law's elite, but that many people have been paying attention to the family's fights in recent months. He adds that the black list has put him on the front lines of the war, and that he should join them.
