In this chapter, we learn that the concept of time has been abandoned in favor of a concept of existence outside of time. We learn that our existence has been "abandoned by history" and that we are not "members of this world's timeline" but are "outside of the flow of time." This means that we don't belong to the world as a whole, but we belong to our mother's womb. This is the first time we've heard anyone use the word "dead" to refer to someone who's already dead in the world
