In this chapter, we learn that the demon is the maid of the demon goddess, and that she is also the daughter of a celestial being. In other words, she's not just a maid, but a human being. She's also the granddaughter of a woman who has lived next door to her for a long time, and who has a son who hasn't yet married yet. The girl, named Xiaobai, has come to visit her grandmother, who treats her very well. She invites the girl's friends over for dinner and tells them to come on in, too. She tells them not to stare at her like they're staring at her, but to come and help her cut the vegetables in the kitchen. She warns them that if they don't do so, the house will burn down, and they should get out of there ASAP. She asks them to return to their "Celestial realm," and they agree to do so. They eat, and the girl tells her that it's time for her to go home.
