Gil-su tells his mom that he's worried about Ho-sun and wants to know if she's happy and where she should go. He tells her not to listen to anyone and to check on Ho-Sun herself. He also tells her to call him instead of waiting for him. He's relieved that he finally has a chance to tell his mom what happened. He says he was about to break in to his mom's house when he realized that he wasn't going to get any help from his mom. Gil-Su tells him that his mom is too harsh on him and that he has to pay her back tenfold for all of the damage he did to her. He compares his mom to a "jackass" who doesn't explain why he did what he did. He goes on to say that he didn't want to save Ho-Sung's life because he felt like he was being "approached easily" and "turning away easily" . He threatens to stab his mom if he ever sees her again.
