The next morning, Kim-Hun and his mother-in-law, Si-yeon, meet at the train station. Si-Yeon tells Kim that her father has bought her a new car and that she's looking forward to a date tonight. Kim says that he's sorry that he hasn't been feeling well today, but that he doesn't want to be alone. He tells her that his parents don't like to talk to each other, so they've invited her to dinner. Kim and her parents eat dinner in a "modest awkwardness" , and she says that she was so happy that she had an "emergency patient" who had a cut on his arm. She says that her parents shouldn't have told her when she was asking for a date, because she should've asked nicely. She also says that the police should keep her address where they can see her, because the thief has jumped out of the window.
