About This Chapter
"Four Knights of the Apor" The ringmaster tells the audience that he has been climbing down the mountain for a full day, and he still cannot see under the sky. He says that he saw the animal on the finger of God, and that it took him two days to get there. He tells the crowd that they should be friends, as fate is at work. They are in rehearsal for the play, and the crowd claps for the performance. He asks the ringmaster if the kid in the ring is a friend of his, and if he can find him in the village. The ring master tells him that he can ride for free, as he is a member of the holy knight family. The crowd laughs at the idea that the kid is a "shrimp" , and they all agree that he is full of energy.
