About This Chapter
The scene opens with Percival, one of four knights who have been following him. He tells the others that he is one of them and that they should not touch him or anyone else. He asks if they are traveling with him because he states their name first. The others reply that they are all traveling because they are polite knights. He then asks if the bewitcher and the sle were involved in the plot to kill him. They reply in the affirmative. He says that he wants to fight them, but they are resting up for the battle. He is surprised that a woman could take on two men like that. He thinks that it is better for her to fight alone than to fight with two men. He wants to take the smaller of the two, but he is interrupted by the sound of tapping taps. He realizes that he has been left with nothing but his magic staff. He stomps the koff, which works in a radius of 50 feet. He calls out to the others to bring forth their magic staffs. He commands them to use the flame sword, the aqua pillar, the splash sword, and the blow sword. They do so, and he tells them that he will pin them down and smash them up
