About This Chapter
In this short scene, King Arthur's sworn enemies, the "goat sin of lust" and "the so-called sworn enemies of King arthur," are introduced. The four knights, who are all dressed in black, have been sent to destroy the city of Venice, where they believe that the "demon village" is located. King Arthur, however, has forbidden them to live in the city, and they have been forced to flee to the island of British Guiana, which they believe to be a safe haven from the "devils." The knights, now disguised as "old men" , try to convince King Arthur to let them live there, but he refuses. He tells them that he has a magic spell that makes him appear to be old and old-fashioned, and that he is helping them escape from the city. He asks them to stop trying to kill him, but they refuse, saying that they do not want to be killed by a "monster." King Arthur tells the knights that he will not allow them to escape, but the knights refuse to listen to him. They continue to taunt him, asking him if he could fight the monster in front of his own daughter. He says that if he did, the monster would kill him for seeing his daughter in the buff, and he would kill himself for doing so. The knights tell him that he cannot bring back his daughter's dead body, even if he were to see her again, because he would have killed himself for seeing her alive. He then tells them about a man who came to him while he was in despair. The man said that he wanted to see his daughter again, but that he was too ridiculous for him to scream at him, so he agreed to help them banish the demons. He also says that they were trying to make a world out of banishing the demons and making humanity a better place. The two knights are about to meet up with Toddle and his daughter, when they hear the sound of two spears
