He has a weird feeling that the wolf is going to bite him, and that's why he'd rather die than let the wolf bite him. He also has no idea how to move well, because his body isn't strong enough to deal with the wolf's bite. The only thing that works for him is that he has been granted "lycan's marking" . This means that he can attack the wolf at any time he wants, but he can only do so if he has the mark on his body.
