About This Chapter
The brigand and the gentleman talk about how they're both dressed up for battle. The gentleman says that he's already been leading an army, so he'll be captured once he steps foot on the battlefield. He tells the gentleman that his family used to be a powerful clan, but the enemy stole the crops, so the emperor ordered the family to guard the Suoyang Pass. The enemy has 200,000 soldiers while the family has 50,000 men. The emperor ordered all of the family's men to go to war, and the family took three months to defeat the enemy. They're all heroes, the gentleman says, but at the end of the day, he is the only man in his generation who doesn't die in battle. He thanks the gentleman for comforting him, and says he thinks he caught a cold because he was pulling off his clothes. The snotty gentleman says he was glad that he could stare at the beautiful body, but that he can't stand it. He grabs a shirt, which turns out to be the clothes he wore when he was a child. He's wearing the same shirt as the gentleman, and he says it's time to braid the shirt into a rope so he can hang it on the wall. He says that the dream is coming true, but they'll both be in the hole.
