The narrator tells us that his wife is mute, and that the spiritual ring owner gave her the name of "Yaji" so that she wouldn't be able to change it. Now that she's existed, she looks just like him. The narrator wonders if there's a reincarnation. He's not in love with the kid, he says, because he's already quarreled with Hu, and they're going to reconcile soon. Oh, and the narrator's mom is going to buy him a soup dumpling so that he won't have to think about his wife anymore. He tells her that two days ago, she was very sad because of him, and he was happy about it. She's going to pack her bags and leave tomorrow morning, and then he'll come back tomorrow morning and pack his bags after dinner.
