In this chapter, we learn that there are only three forces remaining to contain the ring: the spirit ring, the red spider lily, and the goddess of agriculture. If two of these three forces join forces to fight against the other, then the gods of agriculture and creation will be gone. The only remaining force is that of the hand man. The hand man used to be the hand of the gods, but now he wants to talk to the hand-man about a strategy to defeat the other forces. He wants to know why he has to wear a mask because of the traitor, and why he can't let him go. He's just trying to be a good person.
