The narrator tells us that he has decided to give up his life. He has lived on Mount Meru for a thousand years, and he has been lonely for over one thousand years. He thinks that life is like a memory, and that everything fails to make it out of the fate arranged for it by the gods. He says that he only needs the memory of Yiku standing beside her. The narrator says that Yiku's death is not a sad ending, because she died like a snowflake. He asks if he is badly hurt, and says he is.
