In this chapter, the monster tells his uncle that he will never do anything like that again. He tells him that his family has never heard of such things happening, and that women are always "oversensitive" . He says that once his mother is back, he will be a man, and explain what happened to the barbarian to her. He adds that the barbarian has lost a great deal of blood, and now he is in the cold dungeon. The monster says that he forgot to tell his uncle about the puppies they had in the spring.
