About This Chapter
Back at the castle, the fairy tells Roxane that she saw her wounds disappear. She asks Roxane if he's ordering her to strip, and Roxane says that he doesn't want her to play with him. The fairy wonders why he wants to pin her to the wall, and she says that she'll visit him later. The two talk about the moon, and the moon is full, so maybe they can have a romantic talk. Roxane asks how old Roxane is, and he says that because he still believes that he was alone with his uncle when he was tortured, he feels sorry for his lovers. He asks if he can keep her in prison, and when she says no, he asks if she's planning to bring a priest to examine him. She says that, as a forest fairy, she knows what she saw, and asks if the sun hurt her too, and if she can move on to an adult conversation. She wants to know what's Roxane's plan about her, and how he'll keep checking on her. He's not doing anything wrong to her, she says, so she needs to figure out what to do.
