In this chapter, we learn that Mingxuan chose to be immortal, and that he has learned how to use his powers of perception to help him achieve his goals. He also learns that he will need to train in qi, or energy, for the rest of his life. He asks if he can get the elixir that he drank from his father's flask, and the answer is yes. He then asks about the little girl, and she tells him that she is his new disciple. He orders her to bring out some jade, which he says will help her defend herself if she needs to flee. He tells her to hurry up and bring out the jade, because she cannot hide it from him. The jade can be used as an invisibility cloak, and it will come in handy
