This chapter opens with a discussion between a team leader and his assistant. The assistant tells the team leader that the company's project is too difficult for them. They are aware of their own ability, but they are unwilling to do the work that the team is not willing to do. There are no bonuses to be had, so they simply turn around and pick up work that team is unwilling to work on. This is exactly what they have been through, the assistant says, because he doesn't think the team would be willing to face a challenge like this. He tells the assistant that he wants to have a baby, but that his boss is so good that he would rather give birth to his own babies. He says that he is waiting for the chance to prove himself
