The next morning, Huck finds himself in the middle of a conversation with Lucentio, who has not spoken a word to him all day. Huck wonders if it is because of Jane's presence or because of his relationship with her. He wonders if he will be furious with him or will he divorce him to marry Jane. Huck then wonders if the reason for the silence is that he did not reveal the contents of the conversation with Jane. He also wonders whether it was because of the break-up between him and Zevlin. Huck tells him that he will find out the truth about the conversation before he leaves.
