The metabarons have no mother and no father, says the monster. He wants his mother to surrender or he'll kill her. Then he's going to cut her up and give her the access codes to the holo-deck. He doesn't want his father to be shamed for helping him defeat the pthaeans. He also wants to know why the steelhead couldn't just run away with the rest of the tribe. He's got a story to tell, but it's a long one. The only reason he can think of is that the tribe's leader, Rosamel de Roukha, refuses to vote for him in order to get a medal of high nobility. Rosamel is a member of the under-developed troglo-socialik federation, and he refuses to participate in the voting process for the medal. He just sits there and kills five million birds as well. The monster knows that Rosamel will die before he votes for him, so he draws his gun and kills him.
