Benjamin tries to tell the gang that she's not their friend, but the gang insists that she is. They're right, they say. The longer they stay with the gang, the worse they're likely to get, and the sooner they can go home, the better. Bejamin says that she knows the gang's weaknesses too, and that's why she wants to go home. But she can't just tell them one weakness. She has to let the other guys go first, she says, because she knows all of their weaknesses. She's so scared of running away that she doesn't even know how to fight back. The other kids are shocked to hear that Bejamins secret is that she can never defeat the black gang. They mock her for being afraid of death, and she says that even if she did survive, she'd still have to live in shame for betraying her friends to save herself. They tell her that everyone has to go back to school, and if she lets them go, they'll pretend that nothing ever happened. Benjamins panics and runs away, and then she hears that some brats have been trying to get into a fight with her gang.
