In this chapter, the blind man is brought back to life by the blind artist. The blind man tells the story of how he was hired by the boss to paint the portrait of Madame Bovary. The boss never liked the portrait, but the artist kept drawing it for 25 years. The curator tried to stop the thieves, but they ran over the curator and destroyed the van. Even though the boss never saw the original portrait, he was so moved by the painting that he decided to live.
