In this chapter, we learn that Dr. Bledsoe's twin sister, Clara, has come to find out what happened to her brother. She begs him to tell her everything he knows, but he refuses, saying that he did not need her brother to die to tell him the truth about his death. Clara tells him that they are twins, and that they look exactly like each other. She asks him not to hurt anyone else, and he says that he must die.
