About This Chapter
The narrator tells the audience that he caught a cold while he was napping at his desk and drank a cold drink. He then went out in the rain to find his coat in the wet mud. He tells everyone that he is trying to cure his cold, but that his body is too cold to do so. The narrator asks the doctor if he should treat her as a girl would treat her male roommate. The doctor says that she should treat him as a boy would treat a girl. The girl tells the doctor that she knows how to treat a cold, and she tells him that she would rather get the medicine herself than wait for the doctor to tell her what to do.
