The next morning, Dr. Bledsoe wakes up in the middle of the night to find that the fog has cleared and the moon is shining brightly. He's pretty sure that it's the moon that's shining brightly, but he can't figure out where it came from. He wonders if it was part of his plan to use the moon as a decoy to get to the other side of the moon. He also wonders if the moon's ghost is still there, running around the convalescent hospital. He decides that he's going to go look for the moon from the outside. He looks around the fourth floor of the hospital and sees that all the windows are open. He figures out that the moon must be outside, and he decides to go find it himself.
