About This Chapter
The narrator asks the porter if he can take a moment to chat with him. He wants to know if he's seen a ufo before. The porter tells him that he has, and that it was for his own good. The narrator says that he hopes that's the case, and then asks if the narrator has seen any ufos before. He's heard that there are a lot of people who have seen them, but he doesn't know if they're real or not. He says that fortune tellers are trained to tell you what your fortune is going to be based on statistics, not psychic powers or supernatural phenomena. He asks if there's anything he can learn from a fortune teller, and the narrator says he'd like to learn more, but that he can't do his research on his own. He wonders if it's a coincidence that the sound came at such a perfect time, and wonders if he got to see it in real-time. He notices that the crows are flying around the room, presumably to collect shiny objects.
